Driving Miss Donna - what does this mean? Whenever I want to go somewhere, if Don is home he will usually drive. He always says he is driving miss Donna! This blog is for our travels, usually with our truck and fifth wheel trailer, but sometimes in our other wheels. When we are not vacationing check in for updates, although less frequent, about our life at home and our wonderful family:)

August

August started with a camping trip to Battleford SK for another anniversary party. This one for another one of my Aunt and Uncle's. They celebrated 70 years!

The campground was in fall colors which was odd for August but just beautiful. The anniversary celebration was great. So many of my cousins were there, it was a great weekend. Ginger and Ben camped with us and we had so much fun!

Ginger, Ben and Alisa also visited us in Stony Plain. Alisa was scheduled for heart surgery but by the time they got here it was cancelled. I was heavily involved in the Stony Plain Cowboy Gathering music event but Ginger and Alisa came with me and it was even more fun with them there!

The kids and I had another adventure day out. We went to Telus World of Science. Even Blake tagged along! We did the full meal deal with the exhibits and IMAX. It was a blast but we were exhausted when it was over!

Because Alisa's surgery was cancelled they headed back later in the month for a successful re-schedule. So again Ginger and I spent time together.

The reason for the many Lego photos is that the TWOS exhibit was the Lego one and it was FANTASTIC!

Oh and that white Grand Cherokee? That's our new Jeep!

July

Not to let the kitchen makeover rise above anything else - we bought a new to us fifth wheel!

We headed out for the July long weekend with the Camerons at Cross Lake, knowing that on our way home Monday we would be taking the Sedona to the dealer and bringing home a new to us Starcraft. The Sedona was 12 years old and has travelled with us from the farthest south part of Texas to Yellowknife and had an estimated 150,000 kms!

July was jam packed. Home form Cross Lake we headed to Coeur d'Alene Idaho with Jim and Janice, the kids and I minus Blake traveled overnight to Calgary for a hotel stay and zoo visit, kitchen renovations continued, we finally fit in a school's out lunch with all the grandkids, and we fit in a camping trip to Cypress Hills SK with Ken and Brenda!

Oh and the last photos are the new kitchen...

June

Well get ready for some changes! We are renovating our kitchen. After many many visits to hardware stores and cabinet makers we have a plan!

We will be getting new countertops and backsplash in the kitchen and bathroom, keeping the original cabinets and replacing all the appliances!  Woohoo!!

And for this month's action? First the old kitchen so I don't forget the last 26 years, Luke Combs concert with the girls, the kids last days of school, and Fathers Day at the cabin which requires the recreated photo of a grandpa pile!!

Stay tuned for July!

May

Well, now that we are home I will post a monthly update. Maybe...

May is our typical month where we have our first camping trip, and the last few years at the Stecyk cabin. But as seems a pattern lately, the weather affected us. The fires and smoke in Alberta were such a hazard this year it wasn't possible to be outside comfortably, and the ban on fires was a bummer too. Then add an ATV ban and the weekend just didn't seem possible.

So instead we enjoyed getting back into the groove of being home. We watched a bit of Mason play ball when it wasn't cancelled due to air quality, and got in a few Lacrosse games with Blake.

Don and I went to Jasper for lunch one day and managed to escape the smoke a bit but not the whole day.

Some of the memorable things this month were a family dinner for Mother's Day, Stampeders concert at the Winspear, Blake's 16th BIRTHDAY!!!, a visit to Saskatoon for my Aunt and Uncle's 60th anniversary, Lindsay's _ _ birthday, bird house building with Connor, UFest where Emerson danced, and our 43rd Anniversary! And many more times with the kids!

And Don and Ivan went camping with Ivan's Starlink, powered by Don's solar. haha
